This Privacy Policy explains how the CUBE – Local Citation Manager Chrome extension handles your data. We are committed to protecting your privacy. The extension does not collect, store, or share any personal or sensitive user data. All accessed data is processed locally within your browser and remains under your control.
What Data Do We Access?
- For the Business Directory feature, the extension only retrieves data from a dedicated Google Sheet managed by the extension developer. This sheet contains business directories and is used solely to display directory listings in the extension interface.
- For the Analytics feature, the extension may read a user’s Google Sheet only if the sheet is publicly accessible. This is used exclusively to count and display progress (e.g., how many directory entries have been completed).
- The extension does not modify or write to any user-owned Google Sheets.

What Data Do We Collect?
We do not collect or store any of the following:
- Personal identifiers (e.g., name, email, address)
- Financial or payment information
- Location data
- Browser history or activity
- Content from websites outside of your Google Sheets
All data processing occurs locally in your browser. No data is transmitted to our servers or third-party infrastructure.
Data Retention and Deletion
- No data is saved once the browser tab is closed or the extension is disabled/uninstalled.
- No personal or business data is stored on our servers or any third-party infrastructure.
- Any data retrieved from Google Sheets is accessed in real time and not retained.
Permissions Used
To operate properly, the extension requests the following Chrome permissions:
- scripting – to inject and run scripts needed for form interaction.
- activeTab – to interact with the current tab where the user triggers the extension.
- storage – to save user preferences and temporary session settings locally.
- tabs – to manage extension functionality across open tabs.
- Host permissions – limited to
https://sheets.googleapis.com/*to access Google Sheets API for retrieving data from the developer’s business directory sheet and reading public spreadsheets for Analytics.
These permissions are used only for the purposes described above and not expanded beyond required functionality.
Third-Party Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, or transmit any user data to third parties. All Google Sheets API interactions are either with the developer’s dedicated sheet or with public sheets explicitly opened by the user.
